Before You Read This Page

This comparison covers Pipedrive, HubSpot, and GoHighLevel — three popular general-purpose CRMs that real estate agents use. It does not cover real estate-specific platforms like Follow Up Boss, BoldTrail (formerly kvCORE), or Lofty, which many agents actually find more relevant. We cover those separately below.

Two things worth knowing upfront:

  • This page contains affiliate links. If you sign up through our links, we earn a commission. That doesn’t change what we write, but you should know it.
  • None of the three platforms in this comparison have native MLS or IDX integration — a significant limitation for agents who need it.

Full Feature Comparison

Every feature that matters for real estate professionals. Note the MLS/IDX row — all three platforms require third-party solutions for this.

⚠️ Note: All three tools above are general-purpose CRMs — not built specifically for real estate. They lack native MLS/IDX integration, which is essential for many agents. Real estate-specific platforms (Follow Up Boss, BoldTrail, Lofty) are covered in a separate guide further down this page.

When GoHighLevel Makes Sense — and When It Doesn't

⚠️ When GoHighLevel makes sense — and when it doesn't

GoHighLevel is compelling if you're actively using: SMS automation, multi-step email sequences, built-in appointment booking, landing pages or funnels, and reputation management. In that case, consolidating 5+ tools into one $97/month platform saves real money.

But if you work primarily from referrals, use WhatsApp instead of SMS, already have a landing page tool, and just need a clean pipeline — GoHighLevel is overkill. You'd be paying $97/month for tools you'll never open. In that case, Pipedrive ($14/user/month) or even Wise Agent ($49/month) is the smarter choice.

Which CRM Is Right for You?

Three different tools, three different ideal users.

🔵 Choose Pipedrive if...

✔ Your leads come primarily from referrals
✔ You already have email and SMS tools you're happy with
✔ You want the fastest, cleanest setup possible
✔ Pipeline visibility is your top priority
✔ You're a solo agent or small team on a tight budget

🟠 Choose HubSpot if...

✔ You want to start free and upgrade gradually
✔ Content marketing or SEO is central to your strategy
✔ You run Google or Facebook ad campaigns and need reporting
✔ You need the most integrations (1,500+)
✔ Budget is tight now but you're planning to scale

🟢 Choose GoHighLevel if...

✔ You actively use (or plan to use) SMS, email, booking, and funnels
✔ You're currently paying for 4+ separate tools
✔ You manage a team — per-user pricing is getting expensive elsewhere
✔ You're comfortable with a 1–2 day setup investment
⚠ Not recommended if you only need basic pipeline tracking

Real Estate-Specific CRMs: The Platforms We Didn't Compare Above

Pipedrive, HubSpot, and GoHighLevel are general-purpose tools. But there’s a whole category of CRMs built specifically for real estate — with native MLS/IDX integration, real estate transaction management, and workflows designed around how agents actually work. Here’s a quick overview:

Follow Up Boss

Most popular for teams

Built specifically for real estate. Excellent lead routing, integrates with 250+ lead sources (Zillow, Realtor.com), strong team accountability tools. Often cited as the #1 team CRM in the industry. Pricing starts at $69/user/month — which makes it pricier than Pipedrive for large teams.

BoldTrail (formerly kvCORE)

Best for brokerages

All-in-one: IDX website + CRM + lead generation in one platform. Connects to 600+ MLSs natively. Rebranded in 2024 after acquiring BoomTown. Built for high-volume teams and brokerages. Custom pricing (requires demo) — typically $500–$1,500+/month. Not suitable for solo agents.

Lofty (formerly Chime)

Best UI for solo agents

All-in-one platform with IDX website, CRM, and lead gen. Known for better UI/UX than BoldTrail — more approachable for individual agents. Mobile-first design. Starts at ~$449/month for teams.

Wise Agent

Best value for solo agents

Named Best Real Estate CRM by Forbes Advisor three years running. Starts at ~$49/month — includes contact management, drip campaigns, transaction management, and 24/7 support. Best entry-level option for solo agents who want a purpose-built real estate CRM without the enterprise price tag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Including the questions the original version of this page didn’t answer honestly enough.

No — and it’s important to be clear about this. GoHighLevel is genuinely good value if you actively use SMS automation, email sequences, appointment booking, landing pages, and reputation management. In that case, consolidating all of these from separate tools into one $97/month platform saves real money. However, if you work primarily from referrals, use WhatsApp instead of SMS, and just need a clean pipeline — GHL is overkill at $97/month. For that profile, Pipedrive ($14/user/month) or Wise Agent ($49/month, purpose-built for real estate) is the better fit.

Fair question. Those three platforms are arguably more relevant for real estate agents than Pipedrive, HubSpot, or GoHighLevel — because they’re built specifically for real estate, with native MLS/IDX integration. The reason they’re not in this comparison: Follow Up Boss has no affiliate program, BoldTrail (formerly kvCORE) has no public affiliate program and uses custom enterprise pricing, and BoomTown merged into BoldTrail in 2024. We do cover them in detail in a separate section below and plan a dedicated comparison page. Lofty does have an affiliate program (10% recurring for 18 months) and will be covered in a full review.

None of the three — Pipedrive, HubSpot, or GoHighLevel — have native MLS or IDX integration. All three require third-party tools or integrations (via Zapier or direct API connections) to sync with MLS data. If MLS/IDX integration is a core requirement, you’re better served by real estate-specific platforms: BoldTrail (600+ MLS connections natively), Follow Up Boss (integrates with 250+ lead sources including MLS), or Lofty (mobile-first IDX websites built in).

It depends on what you need. The free plan is genuinely useful for solo agents just starting out — real contact management, pipeline tracking, and email at no cost. Landing pages are available from the Starter tier ($15/seat/month) with some limitations. Where HubSpot gets expensive is when you need full marketing automation, advanced reporting, and unlimited landing pages — that’s the Professional tier, which starts at $800+/month for Marketing Hub alone, plus a mandatory $1,500 onboarding fee. For agents who don’t need those advanced marketing features, the Starter tier is a reasonable option.

Both were acquired by Inside Real Estate and rebranded. kvCORE became BoldTrail Front Office in 2024. BoomTown was also acquired and folded into the BoldTrail product family. The underlying CRM technology of kvCORE is still the core of BoldTrail — so if you see training content or broker contracts still referencing ‘kvCORE,’ they’re referring to the same platform under a new name.

Yes. All platforms support CSV contact exports and imports. The more complex work is migrating automations, email sequences, and custom pipelines — that part requires manual rebuilding. For this reason, it’s worth thinking ahead about whether you’ll outgrow a general-purpose CRM before committing to one, rather than migrating later at significant time cost.

If budget is the primary constraint: HubSpot’s free plan is the only genuinely $0 option. For a solo agent willing to spend $49/month, Wise Agent is arguably the best purpose-built real estate CRM at that price point — Forbes Advisor has named it Best Real Estate CRM three years running. Pipedrive at $14/user/month is the best option if you just want a clean pipeline without real estate-specific features.
